Which components are necessary for a PKI solution?

For a fully deployed PKI solution you need:

• PKI middleware
• smart cards and readers
  and/or
  USB token embedding a smart card chip
  and/or
  smart phones with related PKI applications

• digital certificates issued by a Certificate Authority or self-signed certificates
