I am using Internet Explorer 9 with password memory. The password extension is not shown on web pages when I open them using website shortcuts on my desktop or pinned to taskbar. Why?

Microsoft Internet Explorer uses (doubtful) protection technology for so called "pinned" websites. The password memory extension (as well as other browser extensions) is not loaded in this mode. Internet Explorer creates "pinned" shortcuts as a result of a web address drug-n-drop operation from the address bar. This applies to taskbar-pinned Internet shortcuts as well.

To avoid this limitation we advise that you should always use traditional Internet shortcuts and never create them by using the drag-n-drop functionality from the Internet Explorer address bar. You can create traditional shortcuts by right-clicking Windows desktop, selecting "New" -> "Shortcut" and typing the required web address there.
